Hartford Sylvia Encinas provides breakfast, free of charge to all students. Hartford was the first elementary school in the district that served breakfast at no charge to all students. We believe that if children are fed a healthy breakfast, they will be better prepared during the school day. Breakfast consists of an entree, a milk and a fruit. Lunch is also a well-rounded meal. We encourage our students to have a colorful plate of food. All families are encouraged to fill out an online lunch application to see if they qualify for a free or reduced lunch.
Parents and visitors are welcomed to help themselves to a cup of complimentary coffee in the kitchen before school. We also elicit the help of parents to help us deliver breakfast to the classrooms each morning. We look forward to meeting you!
We support the school events by hosting quarterly family lunches in the courtyard. Please consider joining your Husky for one of our special family lunches. (Western Ho Down, Lunch with Vets, Fine Dining, Luau, Super Hero).
